Why Self-Love Is Not Selfish

Self-love is often misunderstood.

Self-love is not arrogance. Self-love is not ignoring others. Self-love is not putting yourself

above everyone else.

Self-love is recognizing that you matter too.

Self-love can look like:

  • Resting when you’re exhausted

  • Saying no when you’re overwhelmed

  • Choosing environments that feel safer

  • Speaking to yourself with kindness

  • Asking for help

You can care deeply about others and still prioritize your own well-being.

Neglecting yourself does not make you more loving.

Burning out does not prove your worth.

Over giving does not earn belonging.

You deserve care because you exist.

Self-love is not selfish. It is necessary.

When you care for yourself, you increase your capacity to show up in healthy ways for the people and spaces that matter to you.
