When I started Family Ties, I planned to grow the business into something much bigger than just myself. I want Family Ties to be a familiar name in our community and surrounding areas. I want it to be an inviting, safe place where current clients feel heard and understood and willingly recommend our services to family and friends.
I started Family Ties in September 2018 with a fantastic partner who was with me every step of the way. She worked at FTC in the evening after working all day as a school counselor. We very quickly went from a handful of clients to a full caseload, all while working our "paying" jobs during the day. Since then, she has added a beautiful baby boy to her family and no longer works with us, but she knows she will always be a part of our team.
Since then, we gained another school counselor, Jennifer Larmann, and an intern turned full-time employee, Sheryl Guitroz. These two ladies are absolutely phenomenal at what they do. While Jennifer works primarily with our school-age children, Sheryl works with anyone from the age of 14 and up.
Last week, we accepted a new intern, Brittany Campo. Britanny has been a nurse for 15 years and decided to move on to her second career as a clinical mental health counselor. She attends the University of Holy Cross, where she will graduate in December. She plans to start her internship with us on June 2nd and will be with us through December. She is a mom of two and will see clients ages eight and up.
Today, we accepted a second new intern, Kelsi Cavin. Kelsi is the mom of four and is currently teaching high school students. She finally got word today that she was approved to start her internship with us on May 1st. Kelsi will also be seeing clients from the ages of 8 and up. Both interns will be accepting clients at an affordable rate to assist those who may not have insurance.
Some of you know we have been patiently waiting to build our own FTC facility. I have always dreamed of having a center with multiple individual offices to expand our practice even more. I am also looking forward to having a conference room where we can conduct group therapy. With the addition of two new counselors, it seems like we may have to get busy with our plan.
As it has been said many times before, "If you build it, they will come!"
If you would like to set up an appointment with either Brittany or Kelsi, please email them directly at Brittany@FamilyTiesCounseling.com or Kelsi@FamilyTiesCounseling.com. You can also fill out a contact form on our website at www.FamilyTiesCounseling.com.
*Once built, the new office will be located at 2044 Gause Blvd. E. right in front of the large medical facility behind PJ's Coffee and First Horizon Bank.
